CLUBS/EXTENSIONS/EXTRACURRICULARS
The Q partners with Kissing Bridge to offer our students and QofH families an 8-week ski club program. This includes 8 weeks of lessons (new and experienced skiers and snowboarders), lift tickets, food credits, and discounted family tickets. We have a blast on the slopes!
Students get to learn how to play chess and other variations of the game. Students who know how to play compete with one another and try to improve their skills.
Students learn about investing in the stock market and are given a set amount of money to start. Whoever makes the most money by the end of the session wins. In the process, students research companies and market trends as they develop strategies and decisions to build their best portfolio.
Students play various games that involve different math concepts or strategies to achieve objectives and win. We play board, video, and card games!
Students prepare a musical to present in the spring. There are many opportunities for students to participate in various roles, including cast, set design, stage crew, sound crew, props crew, choreography assistants, and more! Past shows include Beauty and the Beast Jr., Moana Jr., and Annie Jr.
Student Council is a student-led organization that promotes school spirit, community, and leadership among students, teachers, and staff. Student Council is open to students in grades 3-8 who are in good academic standing. Students learn how to campaign, give speeches, and vote! Council members will be expected to participate in approved activities that will enhance the quality of both the physical and behavioral environments of the school.
Queen of Heaven Eighth Graders may be selected into the National Junior Honor Society. The school’s chapter of this premier organization recognizes and honors students who have demonstrated excellence in scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character as members of the society. Students will be involved in service hours, emphasize leadership skills, and work collaboratively to improve school and community life.
Students work in small groups to construct items or structures of their choice.
Students can play alone or in small groups with a variety of donated board games and card games.
Students spread positivity and kindness throughout the school by demonstrating leadership through activities like running kindness grams and beautifying the school. Members uplift one another with encouragement and love while helping create a welcoming, connected, and supportive school community.
Students interested in social media can join this club to learn to use digital platforms responsibly and appropriately. Members will develop an understanding of marketing, content creation, and online safety while engaging with technology in positive ways. Students will help capture school events and memories, create appropriate content, and support the school by contributing to approved posts on the school’s social media pages.
Students learn how film makers/media makers use different visual techniques like a language. Color, camera angles, sound design and more.
Breathing, movement and focus practices that can help deal with life stress, stay focused on a task, and prepare yourself for big events.
